DESCRIPTION:Join us on August 28 & 29 at the Siksika Arbor for Pre-School Screening Sessions! \nWhat are Pre-School Screenings? \nPre-School Screenings are an important aspect in ensuring that your child’s emotional\, social and developmental needs are met prior to them starting our Headstart program or other nursery/secondary school. Pre-screening includes: developmental milestones screening for ages 3-5\, vision & hearing screening\, vaccinations (ages 4+ can get their preschool vaccinations\, 3 year olds can receive any missing doses from their infant/toddler vaccinations)\, nutrition information for healthy foods education\, and Head Start & school registration onsite. \nPartners and friends will join us with information booths: \n\nSiksika Board of Education\nFirst Nations Health Consortium\nAutism Calgary\nProvidence Inclusive Childcare\nand more!\n\nFamilies who attend can plan to be there for about an hour to complete the screening sessions; refreshments\, resources\, and activities will be available throughout (and a few lucky attendees will be given door prizes!). \nAppointments are available between 9am-3pm each day; please book in advance by calling Ayla with Siksika Community Health at 403-734-5664\, or use the form below to request a call back. DESCRIPTION:We are excited to host The Man Van at the Siksika Powwow on Friday June 30 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nOne in seven men in Alberta will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in their lifetime\, but when caught early it is very treatable. A PSA test is a simple blood test that may help in early detection. The Prostate Cancer Centre recommends men should have a baseline PSA test starting at age 40.

DESCRIPTION:Siksika Mental Health and Wellness will be hosting Bear Witness Day on May 10\,2022 at the arbor from 2-7pm. \nIt is a hope inspired event to promote Siksika children’s equity in wellness and to create awareness of inclusivity and acceptance for our children and youth who have extraordinary needs. \nWe will ensure that the event is accessible\, and “sensory friendly” in our activities and programming for the day. A tipi will be set up outside the arbor with Elders to pray for our children and face paint them. \nFrom about 3-7pm a family carnival style event will be set up inside in the arbor. Along with an indoor movie screen for those who wish to be stationary and participate by observing. There will also be a temporary sensory/calming room set up and sensory kits made available for those children who require extra support in order for them to participate.
