SIKSIKA NATION FLAG RAISED AT STRATHMORE HOSPITAL IN HONOUR OF COMMITMENT TO WORK TOGETHER

STRATHMORE – Siksika Health Services and Alberta Health Services (AHS) joined in a historic ceremony, raising the Siksika Nation flag to a permanent position outside of Strathmore District Health Services (Strathmore Hospital). The ceremony took place on September 21, the day prior to the 144th anniversary of the signing of Treaty 7 and honours the culture and traditions of the Siksika (Blackfoot) First Nations people.

COVID-19 public health safety measures will be maintained throughout the flag raising ceremony, aligned with the province of Albertas new public health measures, announced Sept. 15, 2021. Anyone who is feeling unwell, or who has been advised to isolate due to COVID-19 risk or exposure, should not attend the event.
