SUMMARY:Run as One Youth Conference
DESCRIPTION:The Run as One youth conference is part of a weeklong celebration known as the Siksika Nation Youth Awareness Week. It is an annual event held the week before the Siksika Nation annual fair. Run As One was started in 2004 by youth in the community of Siksika who aspired to host positive events for the nation’s youth. This year’s conference marks the 18thannual\, so we’re making it one to remember. \nThis years conference theme is “Pathways to Hope” where we will host various workshops that are aimed to promote relationship\, and connection with ourselves\, each other\, creator and his creation.\nDay 1: Creation Stories\, Land-based teachings through Traditional Blackfoot Games\, IndigeSTEAM – Mini Tipi Workshop\, Nutrition \nDay 2: Mental Health & Wellness Hope Team\, Hand game fundmentals\, painting\, IndigeSTEAM – VR / Drone / Robotics demonstration\n\nThe conference will be hosted in Siksika at the Piiksapi Memorial Arbor. All youth and groups should arrive at the arbor at 8:00am for both days. The youth conference will take place between 8:00 am – 4:30 pm on August 2 & 3\n\n\nOnline registration forms must be completed and submitted by Friday\, July 29\, 2022.

DESCRIPTION:You are invited to join us in front of the Health Centre from 11am-1pm to meet our teams and raise awareness around overdose prevention. \nAugust 31st is International Overdose Awareness day\, our Addictions Services\, Harm Reduction\, and Community Paramedics will be here to answer any questions you may have or just to say hi. \nNaloxone training will be done on-site for anyone who would like to know more. Snack packs will be provided and community members can enter a draw for $50 visa gift card.
