DESCRIPTION:Join us on August 28 & 29 at the Siksika Arbor for Pre-School Screening Sessions! \nWhat are Pre-School Screenings? \nPre-School Screenings are an important aspect in ensuring that your child’s emotional\, social and developmental needs are met prior to them starting our Headstart program or other nursery/secondary school. Pre-screening includes: developmental milestones screening for ages 3-5\, vision & hearing screening\, vaccinations (ages 4+ can get their preschool vaccinations\, 3 year olds can receive any missing doses from their infant/toddler vaccinations)\, nutrition information for healthy foods education\, and Head Start & school registration onsite. \nPartners and friends will join us with information booths: \n\nSiksika Board of Education\nFirst Nations Health Consortium\nAutism Calgary\nProvidence Inclusive Childcare\nand more!\n\nFamilies who attend can plan to be there for about an hour to complete the screening sessions; refreshments\, resources\, and activities will be available throughout (and a few lucky attendees will be given door prizes!). \nAppointments are available between 9am-3pm each day; please book in advance by calling Ayla with Siksika Community Health at 403-734-5664\, or use the form below to request a call back. DESCRIPTION:Mammograms can saves lives! The Screen Test mobile mammogram clinic will be in Siksika Nation May 30 & 31\, providing FREE breast cancer screening for women ages 40+. Siksikawa are invited to call 1-800-667-0604 (toll-free) today to book an appointment.\n\n\n\nThe Screen Test service uses mobile mammography clinics to ensure eligible women in rural communities are able to get breast cancer screening. These trailers are “clinics on wheels” complete with a reception area\, dressing rooms and an exam room.\n\n\n\n\nWho should be screened?\n\nWomen 45 to 74: This group is most commonly diagnosed with breast cancer\, and should plan to have a mammogram every 2 years until they turn 75. This group can self-refer.\n\n\n\nWomen 40 to 44: Screening is optional and they should discuss the risks and benefits of screening with their health care provider. A referral is needed for their first mammogram in Alberta\, which is available online here: https://www.albertahealthservices.ca/frm-20078.pdf\n\n\n\nWomen 75 and over: Can continue screening and should discuss the risks and benefits with their health care provider.\n\n\n\nScreening mammograms are not recommended for those under age 40.
